The incident began when Warden Police received a report around 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday about a stolen vehicle from an address on Main Street in Warden. The caller reported that a 2-month-old baby was inside the car. Warden Police quickly sprang into action, utilizing traffic cameras to track the vehicle as it left Warden, heading north on Road U Southeast.Fifteen minutes later and 12 miles away, another caller reported a car driving erratically near Road 3 Northeast and Road S Northeast in rural Moses Lake. Deputies responded to the scene and found the stolen car stopped in the middle of Road 3 Northeast, between Road S Northeast and Road T Northeast. The deputy took the suspect into custody, and the child was unharmed and reunited with their family.

Daring Escape from Police Custody

The suspect's troubles were far from over, however. Deputies handcuffed the woman and placed her in the back of a Warden police car. But in a surprising turn of events, the suspect managed to crawl from the back seat to the front and drove away in the patrol car.The stolen police car was stopped about half a mile away when two sheriff's deputies used their patrol cars to pin the stolen vehicle. The suspect was arrested again, and deputies reported that she was possibly under the influence of an unknown substance. She was transported by ambulance to a hospital for a medical evaluation.
